Luanda, Angola - January 27th, 2009

The tan color of the coast of Angola, in south-central Africa, is cut by green rivers flowing into the Atlantic Ocean. The rivers appear wide and green because they are surrounded by dark green vegetation and agriculture.

The river that curves slightly northward before turning south and emptying into the Atlantic, is the Cuanza River. Its mouth is located just south of the nation’s capital, Luanda.
