Argentina - December 25th, 2010

Buenos Aires stands out as a grey area at the start of the sediment-laden Rio de la Plata estuary in Argentina. Smaller in size, Montevideo, Uruguay, also appears as a grey zone on the upper banks.

The Rio de la Plata is formed by the convergence of the Paraná and Uruguay Rivers. The former is surrounded by green wetlands and can be seen entering the image from the upper left corner, while the latter is brown in color and enters from the top center.
