Pakistan - July 14th, 2011

An area of convection hangs in the skies over the base of the Himalayas and the start of the Indus River Valley in Pakistan. The river valley appears as a green area surrounded by more arid, tan terrain.

The Indus River originates on the Tibetan plateau of western China, runs a course through the Ladakh district of Jammu and Kashmir Province of India, and then enters Pakistan via the Northern Areas (Gilgit-Baltistan), flowing through the North in a southerly direction along the entire length of Pakistan.
