Partially visible in the upper left corner is a phytoplankton bloom in the Barents Sea. Originally visible off the northern coast of Norway, the bloom has extended to the waters off the coast of Russia.
This part of the bloom is located in the waters north of the Kanin Peninsula, a large peninsula in Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia. It is surrounded by the White Sea to the west and by the Barents Sea to the north and east.
