Phytoplankton Bloom Continues in Black Sea

The brightly colored waters of the Black Sea are evidence of the growth of tiny marine plants called phytoplankton. The colorful display, which now appears to be diminishing in intensity (click here for previous images), is produced by chlorophyll and other pigments in the concentration of those tiny organisms that reflect light different ways.
