Faint Phytoplankton Bloom Still Present in Canadian Waters

Canada - August 27th, 2011

A faint blue phytoplankton bloom, partially obscured by clouds, can be observed in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the island of Newfoundland, Canada (click here for more on phytoplankton blooms near Canada).

Blooms tend to appear faint when they are just beginning or fading. This one is most likely disappearing, as Eosnap had observed a vigorous bloom in the area almost two months ago (click here for previous article).
