Mainland Spain is dominated by high plateaus and mountain ranges, such as the Pyrenees and the Sierra Nevada (center botttom edge, capped with snow).

The Sierra Nevada contains the highest point of continental Spain, Mulhacén at 3478 m (11,411 ft.) above sea level. The range extends over parts of the provinces of Granada and Almería.
