Spain - August 3rd, 2010

The Sierra de Guadarrama covers the upper part of this orthorectified image of central Spain. The range forms the easter half of the Sistema Central, the mountains running across the middle of the Iberian Peninsula.

Visible to the south of the mountains is Spain’s capital city, Madrid, appearing as an entensive white area. Numerous cities and towns can be observed as smaller white dots around the large city.
