This radar image shows several lakes and cities in the state of Illinois, USA. Visible in the upper right corner is the combined metropolitan area of the cities of Urbana and Champaign.

To the west, in the upper left corner, is Clinton Lake, a 4900 acre reservoir located near Clinton, Illinois. The reservoir was created in the 1970s as a cooling source for Clinton Nuclear Generating Station.

South of Clinton Lake is Lake Decatur, a 2800 acre reservoir located in the city of Decatur, Illinois, east of downtown. The largest lake on the Sangamon River, it was created in 1920-1922. Lake Decatur has a watershed of 925 square miles (2,396 kmĀ² or 592,000 acres) spanning 7 counties.
