The Parry Peninsula and Cape Bathurst, Canada69.7N 124.5W
The Parry Peninsula (center), on the north coast of Canada’s Northwest Territories, is bounded on the west by Franklin Bay, on the north by Amundsen Gulf, and on the east by Darnley Bay. It is home to a Canadian federal migratory bird sanctuary.
The peninsula, Cape Bathurst (left), and much of the terrain nearby contain many lakes, rivers and streams. Of particular note is the river meandering through the Smoking Hills on the east coast of Cape Bathurst. The river snakes sharply back and forth, creating a curved line parallel to the coast.
