Sediments in Southeastern Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan and Iran37.9N 52.7E
Greenish sediments can be observed along the southeast coast of the Caspian Sea. They are particulary bright in Gorgan Bay, is separated from the rest of the sea by the Miyānkāle peninsula.
While much of the land to the east belongs to Turkmenistan, the southern shoreline is framed by the the Alborz Mountains of Iran. Some snow can be seen on the slopes facing away from the lake.
