Ridge of Tian Shan Mountains Between Lake Issyk Kul and Qapshaghay Bogeni Reservoir42.3N 77.2E
Two lakes are visible in this image of the area around the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan border. The smaller lake to the north is the Qapshaghay Bogeni Reservoir, in Kazakhstan, while the larger one to the south is Lake Issyk Kul, in Kyrgyzstan.
Lake Issyuk Kul is deeper and appears dark blue, while its shallower neighbor appears green from sediments. A ridge of the Tian Shan Mountains that runs between the two lakes, is capped with snow and marks the border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
