Peace-Athabasca Inland Delta Between Lakes Claire and Athabasca, Canada

The large body of water in the upper left quadrant, appearing silvery white in this ASAR aimge, is Lake Claire, the largest lake which entirely in Alberta, Canada. It is located entirely in Wood Buffalo National Park, west of Lake Athabasca.

A small part of Lake Athabasca can be observed near the upper right corner. The area between the two large lakes is the Peace-Athabasca Delta, a large freshwater, inland delta located where the Peace and Athabasca Rivers join the Slave River at the western end of Lake Athabasca.
