Several ranges of mountains can be observed in this orthorectified image of the state of Nevada, USA. Visible in the upper right corner are the Eugene Mountains, and running down the right edge of the image is the Black Ridge. In the lower left quadrant, the Seven Troughs range can be seen. All are located in Pershing County.
Situated west of the Eugene Mountains and the Black Ridge is the Rye Patch Reservoir on the Humboldt River, created by the Rye Patch Dam. The Humboldt River runs through northern Nevada and is the second longest river in the state’s Great Basin, at approximately 330 miles (530 km) in length.
