Islands of Anticosti and Newfoundland, Canada53.7N 59.5W
Two large islands can be observed in this image of eastern Canada. The smaller of the two is Anticosti Island, located at the outlet of the Saint Lawrence River into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, in Quebec.
The larger of the two, situated by the right edge, is Newfoundland, located 15 km off the east coast of North America, and the most populous part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Crossing the upper part of the image is the Churchill River. It flows towards into Lake Melville, which is frozen and appears white in this image.
