This APM image shows various lakes in Mexico. The largest is the Ignacio Allende Reservoir, created by the aponymous dam, in east Guanajuato.

It is located 3.1 mi/5 km west of San Miguel de Allende, on the Lajas River. The dam was built for flood control and for providing potable water. It is also known as La Begoña Dam.
