USA and Cuba - March 30th, 2011

The southern part of the Florida Peninsula, USA, can be seen in the upper left quadrant of this image. Lake Okeechobee appears as a dark blue, circular area near the east coast, while the Everglades are visible along the southwest coast.

The island-nation of Cuba occupies the lower half of the image, and the Bahamas can be found at the upper and center right. The bright blue color surrounding the islands is due to the shallower waters over the limestone platforms of the Bahama Banks.
