Several lakes and rivers can be seen in Brazil’s  Minas Gerais state. At the top left is the Emborcação Reservoir, created by a dam on the Paranaíba River. The lake below, called the Miranda Reservoir, was also created by a hydroelectric dam.

The land in this region is very fertile and agricultural production is high.  The main crops are coffee, sugarcane, soybeans, potatoes, corn, citrus fruits, tomatoes, rice and manioc. Many fields can be seen in this image, particularly on the land between the two reservoirs.
