In FAPAR images, the color spectrum over land runs from red (1.0), to green, to yellow and white (0.0), while bodies of water, such as the Paraná River (center) and the Lagoa dos Patos (bottom right) appear blue.

The majority of the land visible in this FAPAR image of Brazil and parts of eastern Paraguay and northern Argentina is green, indicating good photosynthetic activity. Red areas, such as those around the Paraná River, show high activity.
