The Geba and Gambia Rivers – February 1st, 2009
The African countries of The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Guinea are visible in the main image.
The first detail shows the Geba River and the Bissagos Archipelago in Guinea-Bissau. Sediments cause the river to appear tan in color. Further offshore, along the coastline near the rivermouth, the sediments appear a greenish color as they mix with the ocean waters.
At the top of the main image and in the second close-up, the Gambia River and some of its tributaries can be observed.
