This orthorectified image shows the hilly area around Sydney, the capital of New South Wales and the largest city in Australia. The city is located along the southeast coast by the Tasman Sea.

Visible to the north of the city is the Hawkesbury River, also known as Deerubbun, is one of the major rivers of the coastal region of New South Wales. The river and its tributaries virtually encircle the metropolitan region of Sydney.
