Strait of Gibraltar and Nearby Cities, Spain and Morocco – May 31st, 201136.1N 5.3W
The Strait of Gibraltar, separating Spain (above) and Morocco (below) and the Atlantic Ocean (left) from the Mediterranean Sea (right), can be seen just left of the center of this image.
The city of Tangier can be observed in Morocco on the southwestern side of the strait. Also, some clouds cling to the Moroccon coastline on the southeastern side of the strait.
Across the strait, just north of these clouds, is a semi-circular populated grey area along the coast (best observed in the full image).
On the left side of the semi-circle is the Spanish city of Algeciras, on the right side is the British overseas territory of Gibraltar, and between the two is the city of La Línea de la Concepción. Also visible along the Spanish coast to the east are the cities of Malaga and El Ejido.
