Sediments Entering East China Sea – September 8th, 2012
34.3N 123.4EVisible on the left side of this image are sediments from the Yangtze River entering the East China Sea. A greenish plume extends further out into the sea off the coast – this may be a combination of sediments and phytoplankton, fed by the nutrients in the silt from the river. Sediments can also be seen along the coast of the Korean Peninsula in the upper right quadrant.
