Ripples of Dust Over the Gulf of Aqaba and Red Sea – May 6th, 201029.5N 34.0E
The Sinai Peninsula appears as a triangle of land extending from the upper left corner. It separates Israel-Palestine, Jordan and Saudi Arabia (the latter visible to the upper right) from the rest of Egypt (lower left) and also marks the separation between Asia and Africa.
Dust is visible blowing over the Red Sea, as well as the Gulf of Suez (west of the peninsula) and the Gulf of Aqaba (east of the peninsula). It appears to have a rippled pattern, particularly over the Gulf of Aqaba, caused by air currents.
