Mediterranean Sea Between Libya and Greece – September 28th, 2011
35.0N 24.5EVisible in the upper part of this image are the southern portion of Greece (left) and the southwestern portion of Turkey (right), with numerous islands dotting the sea between them. The large island to the south is Crete, belonging to Greece.
Further south, the coastline of Libya can be observed. The area appears mostly arid and sandy desert, with the exception of the brown Al Jabel Al Akhdar, a mountain range running parallel to the Mediterranean Sea, east of the Gulf of Sidra.
