Caspian Sea - October 13th, 2010

Sediments cause the northern end of the Caspian Sea to appear tan and green in color. Upon opening the full image, multiple areas of whitish salt flats can be seen around the lake.

The Volga River Delta is visible in the upper left quadrant. Interestingly, the land in the triangular delta area appears mostly dry and brown, in contrast with its usually bright green color from vegetation.
