As of 2 a.m. PDT (0900 UTC) July 14,  Hurricane Fabio (06E)  is located within 20 nautical miles of 16°N 113.4°W, about 530 mi (850 km) south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. Maximum sustained winds are 80 knots (90 mph, 150 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 982 mbar (hPa; 29.00 InHg), and the system is moving west-northwest at 9 kt (10 mph, 17 km/h).

Hurricane force winds extend up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center of Fabio, and tropical storm force winds up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center.
