Dust Sweeps Across the Sahara to Africa’s West Coast – March 23rd, 2010
16.4N 7.9WA massive dust storm has been sweeping across the southern Sahara Desert, bringing dust from the Red Sea to the west coast of Africa.
The main image focuses on the dust blowing over the west coast, shrouding nations including Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea and Sierra Leone (from top to bottom, following the shoreline).
The other image shows the dust clouding the skies over countries further east, from southern Algeria across inland Mauritania, through Mali, to northern Côte d’Ivoire.
