Dust Storm in Taklamakan Desert, China – November 3rd, 201235.4N 89.0E
A large dust storm originating in the Taklamakan Desert blows sand about the Tarim Basin and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of northwestern China. The dust is airborne over the eastern portion of the 337,000 km2. (130,116 sq. mi.) desert and continues to blow eastward. Its passage to the north, south and west is blocked by mountain ranges.
