Dust Over Persian Gulf South of Shatt al-Arab Rivermouth – April 11th, 201130.0N 48.2E
Sediments from the Shatt al-Arab, which carries the waters of the Euphrates and the Tigris, color the northern reaches of the Persian Gulf. The land around the river appears greener and more fertile than the surrounding desert landscape.
To the south of the rivermouth, dust blows across the Persian Gulf, partially veiling the peninsula of Qatar. To the west, an expanse of sandy desert can be observed.
