Dust Over Red Sea - October 13th, 2010

Dust from Saudi Arabia blows over the Red Sea, just south of the Sinai Peninsula (center right). Further west, two plumes of dust can be seen blowing northward, off the coast of Egypt and over the Mediterranean Sea (upper left corner).

In between these two places of blowing dust, the Nile River and Nile Delta can be seen as fertile green areas amidst the Sahara Desert sands. Lake Nasser and the Toshka Lakes are also visible to the south, by the Egypt-Sudan border. Finally, the Dead Sea, in Israel/Palestine, is visible northeast of the Sinai Peninsula.
