Coastline of Guinea Bissau and Guinea – April 17th, 201210.3N 14.6W
This wide-swath ASAR image shows the coastline of Guinea Bissau (west) and Ghana (east), along the Atlantic Ocean. One of the largest indentations in the coastline is the estuary of the Geba River. Visible by the left edge of the image are the islands of the Bijagos Archipelago. While the inland regions are savanna, the coastline is plain with swamps of Guinean mangroves. Here, the elevation rises as one moves eastward.
