Cloud Vortices Along Chilean Coast – February 15th, 2009
An interesting cloud vortex can be seen just off the Chilean coast, south of the Mejillones Peninsula.
Near the bottom, best visible in the full image, is a second cloud vortex. This one is wrapped more tightly and thus harder to see.
The spiral shape of the other to the North is easier to observe because it is coiled more loosely, allowing the dark blue backdrop of the Pacific Ocean to contrast the white spiralling clouds.
Both vortices have the same counter-clockwise coil.
