Broad Sound and Great Barrier Reef, Australia – July 9th, 200922.2S 149.8E
Tan sediments spill out of Broad Sound, a large bay on the east coast of Queensland, Australia, towards the Great Barrier Reef.
The Torilla Peninsula forms the eastern side of the bay; Shoalwater Bay is on the other side of the peninsula. The Styx River flows into Broad Sound.
Such a large presence of sediments is not surprising, as Broad Sound is noted for its large tidal range of up to 9 metres.
