Blizzard Affects Atlantic Coast of USA and Canada – December 29th, 201039.9N 74.8W
The north-eastern US is trying to get back to normal after blizzards left tens of thousands of air passengers stranded and many people without power. Canada’s Atlantic coast was also hit by the storm – the fourth in as many weeks to affect the region.
In this image, snow can be seen covering large areas of the east coast, particularly in the states of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
Flights have now resumed into and out of New York, Boston and Philadelphia, but many passengers were expected to be stranded until the end of the week after some 7,000 flights were cancelled over the busy holiday travel period. Forecasters are now predicting milder weather for the rest of the week.
