Baja California Peninsula and Sea of Cortez, Mexico – April 10th, 201130.2N 113.5W
While the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula is framed by clouds, the shores along the Sea of Cortez (or Gulf of California) are cloud free.
The northernmost part of the sea appears greenish due to an influx of sediments from the Colorado River. Northwest of the rivermouth is the Salton Sea, in California. Irrigated fields near the Colorado River, between the lake and the rivermouth, appear green.
