Irrigated fields, both circular and rectangular, surround the American Falls Reservoir in Idaho, USA. The lake and fields lay in a valley at the foot of the state’s Caribou Range, part of the Rocky Mountains, in this orthorectified image.

The Rocky Mountains (or Rockies) are a major mountain range in western North America. The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 4,800 kilometres (2,980 mi) from the northernmost part of British Columbia, in Canada, to New Mexico, in the United States.

The mountains seen here in Idaho are on the western edge of the Rockies, which includes the Caribou Range and other subranges such as the Wasatch near Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Bitterroots along the Idaho-Montana border.
