Mexico - May 1st, 2011

Many wildfires burning in Mexico release a thick cloud of smoke that is blowing mostly northeastward. In the full image, many individual blazes can be discerned in greater detail.

Due to the wind direction and height of the Sierra Madre Oriental, the smoke was not passing westward into central Mexico at the time this image was taken.
