Veil of Smoke Over Gulf of Mexico

17.7N 94.3W

May 11th, 2012 Category: Fires

Mexico - May 8th, 2012

Smoke from fires in Mexico, between the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and the Yucatán Peninsula, release a veil of smoke that blows northwestwards,  over the Gulf of Mexico and towards central Mexico. Fewer individual blazes are visible than the last time the area was observed (click here for previous image); however, the veil of smoke has a greater extension.
