Mexico – May 8th, 2013

Haze from hundreds of wildfires blazing across southern Mexico, particularly along the country’s southern shoreline, contribute to a thick cloud of smoke that hangs over the region.┬áHere, strong winds also blow a grey plume of smoke offshore, due southwest over the Pacific Ocean, and a cloud of smoke to the north as well, over the Gulf of Mexico. The silvery color near the bottom left edge, however, is due to sun glint.
