Smoke Over Shanghai and Eastern Coastline, China

Smoke fills the skies above Shanghai and surrounding coastal areas, in China, obscuring much of the shoreline.

Partially visible through the thick veil of smoke are sediments being released into the East China Sea. The sediments come from rivers such as the Yangtze (above) and Qiantang (below).
