India - December 26th, 2010

Smoke blows from western India towards Pakistan. It is thickest near the Himalayas, and becomes thinner as one moves towards the southwest. By the sediment-laden Gulf of Khambhat, its veil is significantly more transparent.

The smoke does not quite reach the nearby Great Rann of Kutch, on the India-Pakistan border, nor does it extend west to the green Indus River Valley in Pakistan.
