Wildfires continue to burn in western USA, with nine new large fires were reported yesterday: four in Idaho, two in Montana, and one in Arkansas, Nevada, and Wyoming. Here, smoke from the fires blows eastward across the United States.
Several large fires in the West made significant runs yesterday. The Rush fire in California gained 59,000 acres and the Holloway fire in Nevada burned more than 25,000 acres. Firefighters contained Rosebud Creek Complex at 171,444 acres, along with 10 other large fires. Fire managers and firefighters are prepared for predicted dry lightning storms this weekend.
