Sediments from the Victoria River, in the Northern Territory, Australia, flow into Joseph Bonaparte Gulf in the Timor Sea. Here, the mouth of the river is covered by thick grey smoke from wildfires. Several fires can be observed, releasing plumes of smoke that fan out in a northwestward direction, over the lower reaches of the gulf.
