Smoke from Fires in Appalachian Mountains and County Line Fire, USA – April 14th, 201235.1N 83.2W
This image shows plumes of smoke from wildfires in the Appalachian Mountains in the southeastern United States of America. The ridges of the mountains appear brown in contrast to the more green terrain of the valleys between and below them.
Visible in the full image is some smoke from the County Line Fire, near the Florida-Georgia border. During the early morning hours on the day this image was captured, the smoke moved in a westerly direction. The exact location of the source of the smoke is difficult to pinpoint, however, due to clouds hanging over the area.
