Sediments in Bohai and Yellow Seas, China

35.5N 120.9E

January 15th, 2011 Category: Fires, Sediments

China - December 26th, 2010

Some smoke can be seen hanging in the air over the edge of the North China Plain, near the Yellow Sea. Fires releasing thick clouds of smoke were previously observed in the same area earlier in the year (click here for previous articles).

A thick load of sediments can be observed in the Bohai Sea (above center) and the Yellow Sea (lower right quadrant). Much of the influx of sediments comes from the Yellow River and the Yangtze River.
