Fires Still Blazing Across Bolivia and Brazil

Fires in South America punctuate the Bolivian (lower left quadrant) and Brazilian (upper half of image) landscapes with greyish white plumes of smoke, and contribute to a hazy veil that spreads across the Amazon Rainforest (top). It is likely that the fires were set by humans for agricultural purposes.
