Australia - June 7th, 2012

Plumes of smoke from fires burning in Australia’s Northern Territory, near the border with West Australia, blow due west-northwestward. Several plumes are located east of the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, while others are to the south of the gulf and east-southeast of Lake Argyle. Rivers emptying into the gulf release a thick load of sediments that color its water opaque tan.
