Fires Near Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, Australia – June 8th, 201214.6S 128.4E
Fires burning east of the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf release plumes of smoke that blow towards the west-northwest. The gulf is a large body of water off the coast of the Northern Territory, Australia and Western Australia and part of the Timor Sea. Another large plume of smoke can be observed west of the gulf, on an island or peninsula near the shoreline. The smoke from this fire blows in a west-southwesterly direction. Visible to the south is a smoky veil over the Western Australia landscape.
