Fires in Queensland, Australia

18.3S 145.8E

October 16th, 2012 Category: Fires

Australia – October 14th, 2012

Plumes of smoke from two fires can be observed in Queensland Australia, west of the Coral Sea coast. The fire in the lower left quadrant releases smoke that blows towards the southwest, while the fire closer to the image center releases a thicker plume that blows west-northwest. The smoke from the fire mixes with the popcorn clouds that dot the skies above northern Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula.
